Now, it’s been 9 long years since Aaliyah left this world because of that tragic plane accident and should have celebrated her 32nd birthday on January 16 if she’s still alive. The world was in shocked and in deep awe when news spread concerning her untimely death. Why untimely death? Because she was on the verge of reaching the peak of her career both in the movie and music scene and with just a flick of a finger she’s gone – forever.

It really seems true to her that “Age Ain’t Nothing but a Number” because at a young age she had achieved so much and have lived a happy life. This “Age Ain’t Nothing but a Number” is her ever first released album at the age of 12 and was an instant bombshell that sold over three million copies in the United States. The carrier song “Back and Forth," was at Top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and a No. 1 R&B song for 1994.

Her second multi-platinum album in 1996 entitled “One in A Million” made her even more famous in the music industry. Her music videos were very enticing and well crafted so as the different elegant women’s suits she donned at every video. Her voice captivated the motion picture company, and let her song be a soundtrack for the movie” Romeo Must Die” wherein she also co-starred in. This is her debut acting that earned her earned her "Best Female Performance" and "Breakthrough Performance Female" nominations for MTV's 2001 Movie Awards.

Because of her superb acting skills, she was given the opportunity to play the lead role in the movie “The Queen of the Damned” wherein she played the role of a vampire queen named Akasha and wore sultry superficial outfits.

Her supposedly third album is not yet finished because of her sudden death, but on December 10, 2002, the Blackground Records released their so called posthumous album of Aaliyah entiled I Care 4 U. the album consists of Aaliyah’s greatest hits and her six unreleased songs.
Aaliyah’s life is one true inspiration and a girl that’s worth missing. Although she may not be visible in our eyes, her voice will live forever through her songs.
