Michelle Obama’s Red Gown is Fashion Faux Pas
It would be ironic if nobody bothers to talk about you if you were the President’s wife right? So, controversies, positive and negative news that are being thrown to the first lady of America is not as good as new.
Being the better half of the President of the United States of America, she will always be in the limelight from the type and brand of shoes and dresses she wears during special events up to the kind of outfits she wore at the White House.
The latest controversy Michelle Obama is facing right now is the criticism uttered by one of the renowned fashion designer in the fashion world -- Oscar de la Renta.
De la Renta vehemently criticized the Alexander McQueen red plus size dresses that Michelle Obama donned at the state dinner with China’s President Hu Jintao.
“My understanding is that the visit was to promote American-Chinese trade — American products in China and Chinese products in America. “Why do you wear European clothes?” Oscar de la Renta said. He was expecting that the first lady will wear a Chinese inspired dress made by a Chinese designer but rather the first lady opted for a European made dress.
Michelle Obama typically snub issues about her but this time she made a fiercely comment regarding this controversy.
“Look, women, wear what you love. That’s all I can say. That’s my motto. I wear what I like because; I gotta be in the dress, so…” the first lady said.
Very well said Madam! That’s a good practice of freedom.
